WASTE and WANT !

I cannot agree more with the observation made by Bill Waterson in the above comics, Calvin and Hobbes (click to enlarge). Yesterday I screwed up badly in queueing theory exam doing several silly mistakes and my mood was off for the remaining day . How badly I wanted to get A or A+. I could not write even 10 lines of code after that. Today, I was told by the instructor that I got high marks in the class and might get A+. The news didn't send even a spark of excitment through me as if it was no big deal. Being a typical scorpion, may be it is my inherent trait to look for new things always. I get bored with monotonous things quickly. This is not a mark of a good researcher as a good researcher should dig one hole as deep as possible apart from looking for new ideas. There is another concern, this trait of mine might put extra pressure on my spouse to appear and sound new and different every day. May be I should change !
